KUALA LUMPUR, 22 March – The development of the German Technology Park (GTP) in Melaka is expected to create 10,000 job opportunities for the local population.

Melaka Chief Minister Datuk Seri Utama Ab Rauf Yusoh said the State Government is confident that the GTP development model will position Melaka as an attractive investment destination for high-tech companies from Germany.

He stated that the establishment of GTP will also boost high-impact economic development in Melaka through industrial growth, technology transfer, and the expansion of skilled local labour.

“I am highly confident that GTP will help elevate the high-impact industrial sector in the State of Melaka, while also improving the quality of Melaka’s skilled workforce through technology transfer.

“To support this, the government will fully leverage Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM) as a technology-based educational institution to produce skilled local workers,” he said.
